A Research On The Lexicalization Of Quantifier In Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)

There are a group of labeled quantifier words in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition),and they have three kinds of quantifier lexicalization state.Some quantifier words can be used as the words,some quantifier words can be used as the phrase and the left quantifier words are between words and phrases.In response to this linguistic phenomenon,the main contents of this paper is to determine the state of the quantifier synchronic lexicalization.Through the analysis of the characteristics of every kind of quantifiers,we try to propose some appropriate rules to judge if it is a “word” or a “phrase”.Finally,we try to research the degree of their synchronic lexicalization base on these rules.The fist chapter is the introduction and mainly introduces the source of topics and research significance of this paper.Then we introduces the research status of lexicalization in China and abroad.Finally we introduces the research methods and corpus sources of this topic.The second chapter describes the overview of quantifiers in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition).The description including the semantic,grammatical functions and the lexical properties of quantifiers.The third chapter bases on other scholars judging the degree of lexicalization standards,we divide the level of lexicalization of each quantifier according to the interpretation of quantifiers in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition).The forth chapter to the sixth chapter reviews the noun quantifiers,the verb quantifiers and the time amount quantifiers synchronic state of lexicalization respectively.The first,we detailed descripes their syntactic features,semantic features,pragmatic functions and words collocation.The second,we classifies the same meanings of quantifiers in detail according to their meanings and grammatical functions.The third,we try to propose four appropriate rules to judge if it is a “word” or a “phrase” according to the characteristics of every kind of quantifiers from these four aspects of semantic coagulability,the structure of the solidified,semantic features and grammatical functions.The last,we divides the quantifiers lexicalization degree of five levels according to each type of quantifiers whether match the four rules.The last chapter mainly introduces the research achievements of this paper and some problems to be solved.
