The Relationship Between Gender And Expression Recognition

Face as an important visual stimulation,which contains a large number of biological and social information.Predecessors have done a lot of research about face recognition,face information according to the different standards can be divided into different categories,according to the change of information attributes,can be divided into two kinds of information,the variable or constant information,expression which belongs to the variable information,gender information belong to the constant information.The relationship between them has been inconsistent results in previous studies,and thinks that the relationship between them are independent of each other or interact with each other.Based on the relationship between them,this research thinks that the relationship between them is adjusted by the adjustment task form.Due to the change of task form,the selective attention can change,which regulates the relationship between them.This study use the happy and angry expression of men and women,using the predecessors' research paradigm,Garner experimental paradigm.In the experiment 1,the aim is exploring the influence of gender on expression.The the experiment 2,the aim is discussing the influence of expression on gender recognition.In the experiment 3,by changing the task form,by the expression value judgment into expression arousal judgment,the aim is to explore the influence of gender on expression arousal judgment.The results of experiment 1 and experiment 2 showed that the relationship between gender and expression is interaction.In the expression value judgment task,the change of gender affects the face expression value judgment,and the correctness of the baseline condition is significantly larger than the filter line condition.In the happy expression recognition,the reaction time of filter condition is significantly longer than the baseline condition.The incubation period of the early stage of the face,that of filter line condition was earlier than that of the baseline condition.In the later stage of the processing stage,the latency of the baseline condition of the female picture was earlier than that of the filter line,Both in the visual coding stage and the late processing stage had an effect on the expression;In gender judgment task,face expression value changes have an impact on gender identification,men happy expression in filter line,the reaction time is significantly greater than the baseline conditions;Arousal judgment tasks in face expression,For the angry image,the baseline conditions incubation period was significantly earlier than filter line in the central area,and in the top area,for the angry face image,the incubation period of filter line condition significantly earlier than the base line.The expression arousal judgment is not affected by gender change in the early stage of processing,and affected by gender change in late processing phase.The results show that by changing the form of tasks,selective attention plays an important role.through the regulation of the selective attention from top to bottom,it is adjusted the face information extraction and processing,thus affecting the relationship between them,and get the relationship between then in line with the diagnostic identification model and the multi-level integration model.
