The Impacts Of School Music On Chinese Modern Music

During the late 19^th Century and 20^th Century,the School Music has been introduced into China.With the outmost promotion from the patriotic musicians,such as Mr.Shen Xingong,it has developed rapidly in our country with a marvelous speed.School Music has been spread into the normal high streets and back lanes from the class at the first.Then it kept exerting influence to our country from the north to the south.During the special historical period of our country,the School Music has played its part to enlighten the education and inspire people's spirits.It has influenced an entire generation of young people in China.At the same time,it also has cultivated numerous excellent musicians and musical educators,which has made an indelible contribution to laying the strong foundation of Chinese modern music.Taking the historical context of School Music as the basis for my argument,this thesis makes a further exploration to its generation,its rising,and its developing in China,and conducts a deep analysis of its amazing influence on Chinese modern music:first of all,it took the examples of Western education model,which opened the gate of music education for normal school in our country;second,it also brought the Western advanced musical theory to our country,which leaded to a comprehensive application of the stave and the western Macro and Minor tunes in our country.These developments largely influenced on the creation of our early art songs and chorus and made our music creation to achieve an unprecedented peak.During this period,abundant excellent music works was born at the proper time and conditions,including the art music,such as Looking for the Plum Blossom While Walking in the Snow;and choruses,such as the Spring Outing,the Melody of the Sea and others.They have greatly promoted the creation development of art music and choruses in our China.Through the analysis of each period of the School Music,the writer made a deep exploration to its great influence on the music education and the developing of the music creation.As the source of modern music education and the turning point for Chinese modern music,the School Music has played an unmeasurable enlightening role in the Chinese music education and the school music creation.
