In ancient Greece,the relationship between happiness and morality has been increasingly a major concern.With the life being occupied by consumerism and the ethical crisis,the relationship of happiness and morality become a timeless legal issue,which has been added to more brand-new significations.As a positive response to contemporary moral crisis and crisis of happiness,we must correctly understand the connotation and relationship between happiness and morality firstly.Happiness is not the pleasure of pure sensual,nor the satisfaction of a purely spiritual pleasure of the individual,happiness is the existence of the reality,the practice of happiness,which is closely linked with people.Moral rule is not an empty slogan and the same moral heteronomy completely.Morality has its social,moral form the social,moral sound depends on social sound.Unsound society is not necessarily perfect,not perfect people is not necessarily a sound moral with them.There is an inherent unity between happiness and morality,which is to get the unity in society.It is immoral to try to decorate the happiness as the satisfaction of the senses and the material needs that can be obtained directly through recreation and consumption.Therefore,it is not only necessary to break the paradox between happiness and morality,but also to deal with and change the social situation.Fromm’s book “the art of love” is an attempt to break the status quo of happiness and morality in an attempt to achieve the inner unity of them.Formm’s “love” is not a week and feeble individual love,it is vigorous and constructive,the love of practice which connected with reality.Using the theoretical love to link happiness and morality.Using the practical love to achieve the inner relationship.It is not only feasible in theory,but also plays an important role in practice.
