| Swordsmen film is regarded as a special type in Chinese movies.Comparing to the world of martial arts in all corners of the country,the real source of swordsmen is the ancient warrior class,small nobles and public servants with some political status.Judging from this,as the public servants in ancient Japan,the warrior class,is closer to the ancient people’s definition of swordsmen.Therefore,the research to Japanese samurai movies has the cultural meaning of pursuing lost civilization in the folk society.Miyamoto Musashi was a famous ancient samurai in Japan.Movies describing his legend experiences are one of records of adapted themes in Japanese movies.Meanwhile,the series movies of Miyamoto Musashi directed by Hiroshi Inagaki and Tomu Uchida are the top ones among numerous works of Miyamoto Musashi themes.Thus,as to the research to Japanese Samurai movies,I choose the two series of Miyamoto Musashi movies about the most famous Japanese samurai as the research object.By researching sword-playing movies in the golden era of Japanese movies,I aim to find the secrets of Japanese sword-playing movies on performance patterns and purpose connotation.Although the two directors’ Miyamoto Musashi series movies are both adapted from Eiji Yoshikawa’ s same original,they present two Miyamoto Musashi stories of different styles of pursuing success and pursuing Dao,regarding the two directors’multi-level expression with definite purposes on story screening,screenplay adaptation and audio-visual language.Miyamoto Musashi direceted by Hiroshi Inagaki is partial to Miyamoto’s making achievements,and is a classical story about personal success with Hollywood style;meanwhile,aparting from Miyamoto’ s success due to his super swordsmanship,the director Tomu Uchida also thinks of Dao,the one with deep oriental philosophy,thus including the oriental cultural essence of spirit into his series movies of Miyamoto Musashi. |
