With the development of the industry and continuous deterioration of ecological environment,ecology gradually enters the field of vision and works on ecology are gradually receiving attention.Jack London is an ecologist in whose works a lot of content about naturalism and ecocriticism can be found.The Call of the Wild is a typical ecologically-conscious work whose main character is a sled dog.In the Gold Rush,it reflects the relationship between humans and humans,between humans and animals,between humans and nature,between animals and animals,as well as the connection between all living communities on the earth.Ecological ethics is a combination of ethics and ecology.It studies the relationship between man and nature from the perspective of ethics.Ecological ethics not only extends the moral care from human society to the non-human natural existence,but also calls for mankind to establish the relation between man and nature as an ethical relationship.According to the needs of ecological ethics,mankind should give up the traditional values of plundering and pursuing the values of symbiosis.Ecological ethics is an extension and development of ethics,breaking the human moral and cultural tradition of paying attention to the relations between human interests and giving true moral values to man and nature.Therefore,this article explores the thoughts of ecological ethics through the method of textual reading.This thesis is divided into three chapters: Introduction,the Main Body and Conclusion.The introduction part mainly introduces the content and author of The Call of the Wild.It summarizes the ideas of ecological ethics,and summarizes the research related to the works at home and abroad as well as the significance of topics.The main text expounds the main viewpoints and concrete manifestations of ecological ethics in the The Call of the Wild.It is divided into three chapters:The first chapter discusses the criticism of Speciesism by the writer in The Call of the Wild.It reveals the imbalance between people and animals and other species in nature.It mainly reflects that human trafficking and abuse animals,ignore the feelings of animals and take the superiority of human beings over animals.It stresses that each species has intrinsic value rather than the relation between the strong and the weak;The second chapter mainly discusses the unbalanced relationship between people reflected in the novel.This chapter mainly discusses the loss of virtue of human represented by Hal and Charles and puts forward gender discrimination.The third chapter demonstrates the ideas of land ethics and ecological holism and claims that human constitute ethical relationship with all things in nature by analyzing the harmonious relationship with his master,Buck's return to the nature becoming a member of the wolves' community,the mutual respect between human and nature.The conclusion is a summary of the paper and calls for humans and all living things in nature to live in harmony and make them keep ecological conscience..
