According to the third survey of status quo in mass sports, the rate of adults aged in 25 to 49 occasionally participating in exercise is the highest,it has a great meaning to turn these insufficient exercisers to regular exercisers.Especially, teachers in junior and middle high school still in sub-health status over 50%because absence of exercise. Therefore, this paper took teachers occasionally participating in exercise as target, the purpose is turn them into regular exercisers, and help them gain sufficient physical and psychological benefits. At present, the mainstream of exercise behavior model is all based on reasoned action, ignoring of irrational action in predicting exercise participation. Therefore, this paper based on reflective-impulsive model, established and examined the reflective-impulsive model in occasional exercise teachers in junior and middle high schools, investigate whether the level of self-control trait moderate reflective process and impulsive process to exercise behavior, and provide the theoretical basis for further intervention on occasional exercise junior and middle high school teachers.Pilot study:This research used ActiGraph GT3X to test the validity of the leisure-time physical activity sub-scale of international physical activity questionnaire-long,the results revealed that exercise amount in IPAQ-L leisure-time physical activity sub-scale has medium to high correlation with all indexes of GT3X,especially the correlation with MVPA equaled to.86.The validity of IPAQ-L leisure-time physical activity sub-scale is good.Furthermore,it established a functional relationship of IPAQ-L with GT3X,providing the basis of accurate measurement of exercise behavior in study one and two.Study one:This paper employed longitudinal design,it used questionnaires and experiments to measure the sampled 547 teachers in junior and middle high schools from Henan Province, aged from 25 to 49,exercise amount not reached the guidelines of ACSM on regular exercise and occasionally participated in exercise, established and examined the applicability of reflective-impulsive model in occasional exercise teachers. The results reveal that the goodness of fit of the model is acceptable, reflective elements-attitude,perceived behavioral control, exercise motivation and social support can positively predict intention, intention and perceived behavioral control can directly predict exercise behavior, impulsive elements-automatic association, approach towards exercise, attentional bias towards exercise and attentional bias towards sedentary behavior can directly predict exercise behavior. In sum, reflective and impulsive process can explain 39%of the exercise variance, reflective process can explained 27%of exercise variance and impulsive process can explained 12%of exercise variation.Study two:The second research used hierarchical regression to test the moderation effect of self-control trait between intention, perceived behavioral control, automatic association, approach toward exercise, avoidance towards sedentary behavior, attentional bias towards exercise and attentioanl bias towards sedentary behavior with physical exercise, the results revealed that the moderation effect of self-control trait is partially exist. The interaction of intention, perceived behavioral control and attentional bias towards sedentary behavior with self-control trait can positively predict exercise;the interaction of attentional bias towards with self-control trait can negatively predict exercise;the interaction of automatic association, approach towards exercise and avoidance towards sedentary behavior with self-control trait has no significant predictive effect on exercise. The moderation effect of self-control trait on reflective and impulsive process is basically come into existence. The conclusions in this study:(1)Reflective-impulsive model is suitable to explain and predict the exercise participation in occasional exercise teachers.Reflective processes played the most important role in predicting exercise, followed by impulsive processes.(2)The effect of Reflective and impulsive process on exercise is influenced by the levels of self-control trait. The effect of reflective process on exercise was heightened when individuals with high level self-control trait;while individuals in low level of self-control trait, the effect of impulsive process on exercise is heightened. Therefore, the intervention on exercise should take personality trait in consideration:rational intervention strategies could be more efficient in individuals with high trait self-control,while irrational intervention strategies could be more appropriate for individuals with low trait self-control.
