| Political news must be translated faithfully and accurately due to its great influence on foreign affairs.Translators should be fully informed of relative political background as well as historical facts.This thesis is based on a political news English to Chinese translation project undertaken by Shanghai Freelance Translators Team.The author finds three kinds of improper translations,which are inconformity with facts,with information focus and with political stand,leading to inaccurate information transmission and analyzes them according to the comparison of first and final drafts.The author attempts to provide practical guidelines of political news translation by summarizing countermeasures based on the analysis. |
