A Pragmatic Analysis Of Fuzzy Language In English Business Letters And Its Translation Strategies

Fuzziness is an inherent property of nature language.Since 1976 American scholar Zadeh put forward the scientific term "Fuzziness" in Fuzzy Set,fuzziness and fuzzy language have become a heatedly discussed topic.Fuzzy language plays a significant role in communication.Based on fuzzy language,this thesis studies the pragmatic functions of fuzzy language and it will serve for business transactions consequently.Business letters are significant ways for both parts involved to communicate with each other.However,abundant fuzzy language will undoubtedly cause translation obstacles in cross-language business translation.To translate fuzzy language better in business letters and promote a win-win situation at last,"the writer of this thesis makes English business letters as an object of study to analyze rationality,functions and existence forms of fuzzy language and put forward translation strategies of fuzzy language,which is based on fuzzy theory.
