Since the 1920 s,Chinese animation has experienced nearly 100 years of history.In the history of the development of Chinese animation,Wan Laiming is known as the founder and leading figure in the history of Chinese animation.From 1925 to 1964,after nearly half a century of struggle,he always walked in the forefront of Chinese animation and always contributed his own strength to the development of Chinese animation.This article takes time as the axis and follows the development of Wan Laiming’s art,and explores the formation of the “nationalization” thought of Wan Laiming’s animation and the characteristics of his animated artistic style from the perspective of the impact of his career experience on his animation creation.There are five parts in the full text.The introduction part expounds the background of the topic,the thoughts and methods of the research,and sorts out and analyzes the current domestic and foreign literatures and materials about Wan Laiming.The first chapter of the thesis is an analysis of Wan Laiming’s multi-perspectives,and analyzes his influence on his animation arts through his analysis of the growing environment and his experience.The second chapter of the thesis is the exploration of Wan Laiming’s animation art.During the initial exploration period,China’s first animated cartoon “Danao Studio”unveiled the historical chapter of Chinese animation.In the difficult exploration period,he created China’s first animated animation,"Camel Offering Dance," marking the entry into the audio era of Chinese animation.During the development period,Wan Laiming took several anti-Japanese propaganda films and produced China’s first black-and-white animated feature film “Princess Iron Fan”.The animated art style began to develop towards “nationalization”.In the period of maturity,China’s first color animated feature film "Havoc in heaven" was completed.It is the pinnacle of Wan Laiming’s animation "nationalized" style development.The third chapter of the thesis is an analysis of the characteristics of Wan Laiming’s animation artistic style.This chapter is divided into three sections to discuss the nationalization of the animated art style.The fourth chapter of the thesis isto discuss the value and era significance of Wan Laiming’s animation art.Adhering to the development of the nationalization of Chinese animation is the core of the artistic value of Wan Laiming’s animation,and its animated artworks have distinctive national characteristics.Wan Laiming fully absorbed the nutrients from traditional Chinese culture and combined it with animation arts to light the spark of nationalization of Chinese animation art.Carrying forward Chinese traditional culture and promoting cultural self-confidence is a requirement of the new era.It draws nutrition from the art style of Wan Laiming,and promotes innovation based on the animated spirit and valuable experience of the predecessors.It is of great significance to the development of Chinese animation.
