Sheet metal material is one of the most widely used kinds of materials in our daily life.Generally speaking, sheet metal materials are produced through stamping forming process,of which the key point is the formability. The focus of researches in this field is mainly on reproducing the process conditions through testing and modelling, with the aim of identifying material parameters. The translator chooses the latest research results in related fields as the final research subject. As for the genre of this text,it enjoys the traits of English for science and technology(EST),with a precise structure and clear logic, reflecting the specialization and standardization of EST.Besides, the text is one of the latest research results in metal material manufacturing field, ensuring the timeliness and authority of the source document.Supported by the functional equivalence theory proposed by Eugene Albert Nida and with the help of the CAT tools, the translator finally succeeds in completing the translation practice. The project consists of four parts, task description, process description, case analysis and conclusion.Furthermore, based on problems appeared in the translation process,a relatively comprehensive analysis has been conducted in the report, and meanwhile the translator hopes to provide some references and inspirations to the translation research in related fields.
