A Study On The Film Subtitle Translation From The Perspective Of The Interpretive Theory

With the rapid development of globalization,the exchanges between China and other countries have become more the frequentand diversecultural for many years.As an important part in culture exchange,the films plays a key role in the exchange among countries.Great focus has been put on the film in order to improve its quality.The recent pour of the film into China has made the subtitle translation as the hot field in the study of translation,having great effect on import of foreign film.However,the quality of film subtitle translation is in a poor state.Therefore,the subtitle has drew more and more attention for its high business value,developing in high speed.The paper attaches great importance to the research of English-Chinese subtitle translation of The Last Legion from the perspective of the interpretive theory with the guidance of characters in subtitle translation.Besides,the research also emphasize on advantages and disadvantages on the translation strategies under the guidance of the interpretive theory.Furthermore,limits of the interpretive theory will be introduced in this paper as well.The interpretive theory has significant guidance to quality of subtitle translation.As a conclusion,the interpretive theory exists great significance in guidance of subtitle translation.
