An Empirical Analysis On Supply And Demand Of Elderly Homecare Service In Urban Communities

The double crisis of aged and high-age population tendency promoted the concern of aged service.With the weakening security function of home and the choice of living at home from the senior citizens,home-based care for the aged sprouts in a natural way.In recent years,our government has issued lots of relative policies to advance the development of home-based care service for the aged.Nevertheless,whether the policies can fully meet the changing needs of the aged is still unknown.In terms of advancing the service,it is important to know the current supply and demand situation in the aged service market.Early in 2003,the government of Gulou District introduced the home-based care in certain community.There have been more than 90 stations of home-based care by 2015.This essay,divided by four parts,is an empirical analysis of the current supply and demand situation in Gulou District.In the first part,the essay mainly focuses on stating the relative conceptions and theories of home-based care service.The second part of this essay talks about the current supply and demand situation in Gulou District,especially the policy and equipment supply and demand.The essay lists the advantages of home-based care service in the District mentioned before as follows:first,they have clear service orientation and multiple service content.Second,they have a young and professional team.what's more,their service are safe,well-controlled,and affiliated with motivated resources.On the contrary,the industry in this district is still inadequate,because of the lacking measures and the linkage from relative department,the small working place,the backward facilities,the high employing cost,the brain drain,the lack of funds,and the weak ability of self development etc.The next part is a part of empirical analysis of the current supply and demand situation in Gulou District and its influence factors.The analysis of this essay comes from questionnaire investigations to the aged from four streets in Gulou District.The last part is about the conclusions and suggestions of home-based care to the aged.In this part,we not only summarize the industry situation and its influence factors,but also suggest some measures to advocate home-based care in terms of the current situation and financial ability of the aged.
