With the development of urbanization,industrialization and the process of agricultural modernization, non-agricultural rural surplus labor transfer selectivity evident, rural female labors play a more important role in agricultural production.This paper takes the agricultural modernization of Foshan City, Guangdong Province as the background, selecting parts of towns and villages rural female labor force of Sanshui, Foshan City for the study. Through field visits and the questionnaire research, leaned about the production living condition and problems of the female labor force in the region, discussed the impacts of the feminization trend on development of modern agriculture. The main contents and conclusions are as follows.(1) The female labors face the restrictions from the social, family and individual factors,resulting being selected leaving to engage in agricultural production in rural areas In the process of the transfer of rural surplus labor, showing a feminization trend. Judging from the survey areas, the female labors have heavier agricultural production burden,family responsibilities increased, the share of personal income in household income increased, but their family status have no changed fundamentally. This model of agricultural production policy makers and operators separation is not conducive for women to take better participation in agricultural modernization,at the same time it will have a negative impact on agricultural production.(2)The modernization of agricultural production have a higher requirement for t he agricultural labors, such as scientific and cultural level, knowledge of agriculturaltechnology, modern agricultural business management ability,obtain information on agricultural markets, to avoid the risks. However, rural women have low levels of e ducation, poor acceptance of new technical capabilities on generally,combing with co nflict with family roles in agricultural production between the main force role,makin g the overall quality of the female labors have the poor, it is difficult to meet the r equirements of modern agricultural production. Meanwhile, the female labors' abiliti es to get market information is poor, resulting agricultural production blindness,incre ased the risk of agricultural production,hiding agricultural productivity,making challen ges for the development of modern agriculture.(3) Compared with men and women,the feminization is not conducive to the de velopment of agricultural production. Female labors are poor at education, accessingto agricultural production and financial capacities, having fewer average agriculturalmachinery, agricultural production and less able to obtain information, resulting agri cultural production blindness,increased the risk of agricultural production,hiding agric ultural productivity,making challenges for the development of modern agriculture.(4) In order to make the rural female labor play an active role in agricultural development and promote the development of agricultural modernization, it should continue to improve women's culture and science skills; intensify the training of rural women labor force; encourage the establishment of professional women workers cooperatives; improve public services in rural society, and improve the rural medical security and pension system and mechanism.
