Application Of Data Mining Technology In The Identification Of Poor Students In Higher Vocational Colleges

In recent years, with the reform of the examination system and the continuous expansion of college enrollment, more and more students from poor families have the opportunity to enter the university.Although the government have introduced a series of policies to help the poor students, the management of the poor students in Colleges still faces huge challenges every year. Since there is no unified standard of the delimitation of poor students and there is a lack of systematic and standardized management.thefinancia! assistance to poor students becomes cumbersome with a waste of a large amount of data and resources. In order to make full use of the data and information, find out the key factors in the identification of poor students, make scientific and effective identification and standardize the management to aid the real poor students, this paper introduces the database and data mining technology into the financial assistance to poor students in universities, hoping to overcome the difficulties in the identification and management of poor students.Combined with the experience of my work and the need of the modern information management system of colleges and universities, the main work of this paper is as follows:(1) Basic theoretical knowledge of database, data management system and data mining technology are introduced.(2) The data of the poor students is collected and processed according to the specific requirements and features of our school's financial assistance work. A management system of poor students is created based on the database, data management system and the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in order to master a variety of information of the poor students and to realize systematization and standardization of the information management system.(3) The data mining technology and association rules algorithm are introduced, the Apriori algorithm is elaborated, and improved algorithm for the problems is put forward.(4) Data mining of the information of poor students in the management system is processed by the improved algorithm of Apriori algorithm in order to generate association rules, to find out the correlation between the data, to verify its effectiveness, and to provide a more scientific and reliable basis for the future work of financial assistance to poor students.
