Objective:This paper aims to investigate the impact of calf bandage(intensity of pressure is 150 mm Hg to limit the activity of calf muscles)on s EMG of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis during whole body vibration,and verify the vibration reflection by comparing the thigh s EMG changes before and after calf bandage usage.Methods: Three subjects were randomly selected to make the maximal voluntary contraction of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis,then the surface EMG signal was collected.10 healthy male subjects,age(25.50 ± 0.52 years),height(173.60 ±5.10cm),body weight(69.40±8.11kg).Ensure that the experimental subjects' lower limbs have no injury history,no vigorous exercisethree days before the experiment so that there's no impact on experimental results.Subjects stood on the vibration platform(vibration frequency is 10 Hz,suitable for muscle relaxation training)under four experimental conditions respectively are non-vibration&non-banding,vibration&non-banding,non-vibration&banding and vibration&banding.Then we tested acceleration signals and surface EMG signals of vastus medialis,vastus lateralis,the heel and vibration platform.The acceleration signal was processed by the FFTrespectivelyon threeaxis to obtain the acceleration spectrum in threedirections,then calculated the percentage of vibration energy on the vertical axis and horizontal plane of human anatomy.In addition,weobtained relative vibration energy at 10 Hz,relative value of total vibration energy and 10Hz's vibration energy percentage in total vibration energy by processing acceleration with DC remove,integral and FFT.The processing of s EMG signal contains filter(two order band-pass butter filter,the passband is 10-400Hz),average value remove,rectification,cut section,and finally the integral EMG value is calculated.Single factor analysis of variance was used for statistical analysis respectively on 10Hz's relative vibration energy,the total energy of relative vibrationenergy and percentage of 10 Hz vibration energy of four locations(vibration platform,heel,vastus medialis and vastus lateralis)under vibration&non-banding and vibration&banding conditions.we used paired sample t test to analyze vertical and horizontal vibration energy percentage at 10 Hz,the relative vibration energy at 10 Hz,thetotal relative vibration energy and 10Hz's vibration energy percentage of vastus medialis and vastus lateralisbefore and after banding.Randomized double factors Analysis of variance was used for statistical analysis of integrated s EMG of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis under four experimental conditions.Pearson bivariate correlation statistical analysis was carried out on the analysis of integrated s EMG of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis under vibration&banding condition and relative vibration energy at 10 Hz,integrated s EMG and total relative vibration energy.Results:During whole body vibration training,the vibration energy of platform at10 Hz is mainly on vertical axis.Whether or not the calf bandage,the vibration energy of heel,vastus medialis and vastus lateralis on vertical and that on horizontal direction at 10 Hz are each half;Ratios between10Hz's vibration energy of vastus medialis and vastus lateralisand total vibration energy with vibration platform' vibration energy are increased,but the percentage of 10 Hz vibration energy in total vibration energy isbasically the same.During whole body vibration training,the 10 Hz vibration energy percentages of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis on vertical and horizontal have no significant changes;the 10Hz's relative vibration energy and total relative vibration energy of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis are increased.The i EMG of vastus medialis and vastus lateralis are increased.During hole body vibration training,there was a significant correlation between the relative vibration energy of vastus medialis and their surface i EMG(R=0.69,p=0.03),thetotal relative vibration energy and surface i EMG also had significant correlation(R=0.68,P=0.03);there is no significant correlation between relative vibration energy of vastus lateralis at 10 Hz and its surface i EMG,the same situation between total relative vibration energy and surface i EMG.Conclusion : During whole body vibration training,the calf bandage usage can improve the activity of thigh vastus medialis and vastus lateralis,which provides a theoretical basis for the relaxation training of thigh muscle to enhance the effect of whole body vibration on vastus medialis and vastus lateralis.
