Nowadays, higher education has been a very important way for social mobility. For university graduates, the first step for their social mobility is getting a job. However, as the number of university graduates is constantly increasing every year, their employment has been the focus of government, universities and students. The thesis based on the questionnaire survey on employment of university graduates of 2014, investigates, studies and analyzes the employment of university graduates, the effect of intergenerational mobility by higher education to different groups of graduates, and the elements of job selection for different groups of graduates.The thesis is divided into six parts, which consists of introduction part and five chapters. The first part is introduction part, which briefly introduces the problem and the concepts being studied, as well as the study methods. The first chapter mainly introduces the theoretical basis of the thesis---national choice theory and cultural reproduction theory. The second chapter analyzes the employment condition of university graduates in different social classes, different types of universities and majors. The third chapter based on the comparison of careers between university graduates and their fathers, through the analysis of intergeneration mobility table, introduces different effects of higher education to the social intergeneration mobility for graduates from different social classes from urban and rural areas. The fourth chapter, through the analysis of the job election elements of different groups of graduates, verifies that there exist differences on job selection of graduates from different social background. The fifth chapter concludes the investigation result from chapter 2 to 4, and offers some advice from the governmental. collegial and students aspects.The thesis based on documents, questionnaire survey, mathematical analysis and analysis of university graduates' employment condition, introduces the influences of higher education to the social mobility, on the purpose of expanding relevant theoretical research and provide some reference for the reform of higher education.
