English textbooks used in our primary schools has been presented diversified patterns since the advent of the New English Curriculum Standards.As being used in the initial stage,dialogue takes a large part of the English textbooks,among which like PEP,NSE and PSE.Dialogue text is the main form of expressing the teaching and learning content,and is the axis of the unit knowledge points,which plays an important role in teachers' teaching and students' learning.A great deal of studies on primary English conversations have been conducted so far.The pedagogical implications of the dialogue text which lack of in-depth theoretical study,have not yet been paid enough attention by the researchers.English teaching empowered itself particularity when conducted in the class.It's still worth a further study whether the content of the conversations in the textbook is designed scientifically and reasonably,and whether it can successfully embody or realize its pedagogical implications.Based on the existing standards for the textbook compilation and evaluation at home and abroad,the case study on the dialogue text in the Englishtextbooks(fourth grade)at primary level,it grasps the meaning of the typical dialogue materials' deep expression by combining its static assessment and the dynamic class implementation.Learning the information conveyed from the surface of the text,the paper analyzes its effects on teaching and learning,telling to what degree it help convey its attached significance.Through methods of documentary research,text analysis,classroom observation and interviews,the current dialogue text is found revealing its weak attraction to the teachers and students,its inappropriate expression of the teaching content and unreasonable way of guidance in teaching and learning.The main reasons for these problems are that the editorial staff lack of fully understanding the implementation process of the dialogue text teaching,ineptly selecting and arranging the dialogue text materials,and inadequately considering the students' cognition.Therefore,the designers needs to deepen their understanding the teaching and learning significance of the dialogue text,select more appropriate materials and arrange them more reasonably,so as to have the dialogue text optimized and realize its possessed pedagogical implications eventually.
