Under the current situation of educational informatization, the research tries to make some attempt and reform on the teaching model applied in the English visual-audio-oral course,a school-based course offered to students in international classes of senior High school. With introducing the “flipped classroom” into the English visual-audio-oral course, this paper aims to construct a flipped classroom-based autonomous learning model with basis of “student-centered” and “learning process being regarded as an active construction process”,and then apply the new model to English visual-audio-oral teaching.Meanwhile, the effects on students' listening and speaking ability and autonomous learning ability with the application of the new model are evaluated in this research.Besides, students' attitudes towards this model is also studied.Taking flipped classroom as the carrier, this model tries to carry out autonomous learning, knowledge internalization and knowledge consolidation and development from both teachers' and students' perspectives. There are three stages: before-class stage,in-class stage and after-class stage of this model. When applied to English audio-visual-oral teaching,at first, teachers need to provide appropriate learning resources and to design learning activities and targeted exercises, while students need to carefully learn the provided teaching resources by themselves, and to complete the relevant exercises and to find out the difficult points. And then, teachers need to inspire and encourage students to explore and solve the problems they raised before class,to guide their personalized learning, and to assist students to form learning groups, while students need to analyze and explore the problems they encountered,to complete in-class activities and to communicate within and among their learning groups as well as with teachers to ultimately achieve the knowledge internalization. And at last teachers make reflective thinking about the design and procedure of the whole class and then make better preparation for the next class, while students, after autonomous learning before class and knowledge internalization in class, focus on the review and consolidation of what have learned, and also on knowledge development and expansion. In this research, research instruments like tests, questionnaires, interviews and class observations are used to do both quantitative research and quality research. Two international classes of 37 high school juniors each of Henan Xinyang Senior High School are selected as the subjects of this research. After thedata collected from the tests and the questionnaires,Statistical Package of Social Sciences(SPSS)19.0 is adopted to analyze them.Findings through interviews and observations are summarized as well. There are some conclusions reached after the experiment.Firstly, students on the whole take a positive attitude towards flipped classroom-based autonomous learning model which can be concluded from the questionnaire, interview and class observations.Secondly, all the statistic analysis throughout the whole experiment shows that the new model could help the students improve their listening competence a bit and oral proficiency a lot.Thirdly, the students' autonomous learning ability has also been improved with the help of this model.
