The tradition of ideological and political education was formed in the United States early from the beginning of its founding.First priority is given to I&P education by national laws and the regulations,head of government,educational institutions,and institutions of higher learning.The I&P education in colleges and universities has a set of effective management mechanism and methods.All of work is carried out with cooperation and coordination,and converged into a strong force in the university.In new situations and conditions,some achievements have been made in moral education in China's colleges and universities,but there are still some problems.With the successful experiences in American universities' I&P education as reference,a way of moral education was developed suitable based on the actual situation in China.That is:setting up its open awareness based on the characteristics of times;optimizing its content structure according to the situation development;innovating its education methods according to the educational objects;exerting its functions based on according to the needs of society.This is of great realistic significance to the cultivation of socialist builders and successors and enhancement of moral education effectiveness.This thesis is composed of four chapters:First part is an introduction to the background,theory and research significance,research status home and abroad,research approaches and methods and innovation points.Chapter one clarifies relevant concepts in moral education and analyzes the main factors influencing the effectiveness of moral education in universities in China.Chapter two probes into American universities' I&P education in terms of its content,main modes and experiences.Chapter three analyzes the achievements and the problems of moral education effectiveness in China.Also this chapter analyzes the causes for the moral education effectiveness in China.Chapter four expounds the enlightenment of American universities' I&P education on the moral education effectiveness in universities in China Main views are summarized:setting up its open awareness based on the characteristics of times;optimizing its content structure according to the situation development;innovating its education methods according to the educational objects;exerting its functions based on according to the needs of society.The last part is a conclusion of the whole thesis.
