International students play an important role of cultural exchange between nations. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the cross-cultural adaptation of international students in China.Cross-cultural adaptation is a process of the interaction between international students and the local majority group;therefore, the majority will affect foreign students inevitably. The attitude of the majority is an important aspect among the influence that majority have on international students.International students' perceived attitudes of the majority could influence their acculturation outcomes. The acculturation orientation is another important factor in the study of cross-cultural adaptation. It refers to the tendency that international students have of cultural behavior of ethnic groups and the majority of the host country. This tendency also affects acculturation outcomes. We select the perceived attitudes of the majority and the acculturation orientation on the perspective of international students in China, which are the two main factors that influence the cross-cultural adaptation, and take acculturation outcomes as an indicator of cross cultural adaptation in order to exploring the influence that the perceived attitudes of the majority and the acculturation orientation have on the acculturation outcomes. We also want to explore the relationship of the three variables. This study is aimed at international students in Mainland China.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 838 subjects that were selected in convenient sampling method in Shandong Province,Guangdong province and Beijing City. Results shown that:1 There were significant gender differences on the perceived negative attitudes of the majority, acculturation and sociocultural adaptation, precisely, females scored lower on the perceived negative attitudes of the majority than males, and females adopted less Chinese culture than males.Female were worse than males in sociocultural adaptation. The perceived negative attitude of the majority had significant difference on age.Students of 24~28 years old perceived more negative attitude than 19~23,41~49 and over 50 years old students. The acculturation had significant difference on the level of HSK(the level of Chinese language skill). The subjects of grade 6 were higher than those of grade 3,grade 4,and those didn't have grades.2 The perceived positive attitudes can positively predict enculturation, acculturation, satisfaction with life and sociocultural adaptation. The perceived negative attitude of the majority had a significant negative prediction of enculturation sociocultural adaptation andsatisfaction with life.Enculturation and acculturation can both positively predict satisfaction with life and sociocultural adaptation.3 The perceived positive attitudes of the majority can impact satisfaction with life and sociocultural adaptation directly, and also can impact through the multiple mediating effects resulting from enculturation and acculturation. The perceived negative attitudes of the majority can impact sociocultural adaptation directly, and also can impact through the mediating effects resulting from enculturation. The perceived negative attitudes of the majority can impact satisfaction with life directly through the complete mediating effects resulting from enculturation...
