An Exploratory Analysis On The Method Of Integrating School Motto Into Cultivating College Students' Core Socialist Values

The core socialist values,officially specified by the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China,help guide people how to counteractive the erosion of all the degenerated culture and boost the confidence and pride of the people,and play a vital role in achieving socialist modernization and the great renewal of the Chinese nation during our country's economic development.The colleges and universities are good for cultivating talents.Their mottos should embody the soul of core socialist values,have a profound historical accumulation,and play an indispensable role in the process of ideological and political education of university and college students.This paper attempts to exploit a relationship between university and college mottos and core socialist values,carry out the study on the situation about cultivating the university and college students' core socialist values by way of the mottos,and promote the path of integrating the mottos into the education of core socialist values for university and college students in terms of four aspects: deepening the training of university and college mottos,expanding propaganda and education,strengthening the construction of campus culture,and improving the training mechanism.This paper covers four parts.The first part introduces the study background and the theoretical basis for the study,and summarizes the academia research contents on university and college mottos and cultivating socialist core values.The second part explains the main concepts about university and college mottos and core socialist values,obtains the common points and differences of the value orientation of university and college mottos by analyzing the value orientation of the mottos of nearly 100 universities and colleges in China,and summarizes the relationship between university and college mottos and core socialist values.The third part makes an empirical study on the cognition and cultivation of university and college mottos,and makes a summary on the subjective cognition status,media use status.The fourth part puts forward the basic principles on how to integrate university and college mottos into the cultivation of core socialist values,and promotes the choice for the education path by deepening the training of university and college mottos,expanding propaganda and education,strengthening the construction of campus culture,and improving the training mechanism.
