With the increasing emphasis on higher education, the investment of colleges and universities has been increasing, and the scale has been expanding. Many colleges and universities have seized the opportunity to realize the rapid development of the school. At the same time, some universities have not paid enough attention to the synchronous development of performance management, and there are many problems. In order to improve the teaching quality and improve the overall management level, many colleges and universities have introduced the concept of performance management. But the performance management in Colleges and universities lack of a complete set of theory as a support, many colleges and universities on the understanding of performance management is not deep enough and practice the apparent lack of experience, more application of enterprise performance management, the performance management process difficult to implement, or a mere formality.Based on this, this paper takes Dalian Ocean University as the research object, according to the performance management and the performance management theory, and uses the method of questionnaire survey, the situation of performance management of Dalian Ocean University were investigated, and the current situation of performance management in Dalian Ocean University, more in-depth analysis, find out the specific. Problems of construction should be improved and mistake as performance appraisal performance management, lack of effective performance management communication and application of performance appraisal results is not enough and the lack of security system mainly includes performance appraisal index system for performance management. And the cause of the problem in-depth analysis, including the management of leadership performance did not pay full attention to the performance management, lack of learning and propaganda, middle managers lack of executive force and the characteristics and direction of school education is not deep enough understanding. Finally, on the basis of analysis of the performance management of Dalian Ocean University put forward relevant suggestions for improvement, including the construction of scientific performance management index system, from the thought that the final objective of performance management, the importance of performance communication and feedback and the scientific application of performance appraisal results.At the same time, through the investigation of the situation of performance management of Dalian Ocean University can not only make the performance management strategies in the new stage of Dalian Ocean University, can also for other universities to solve similar performance management to provide reference.
