Research On Current Situation Of The Full-time Social Workers In Communities Of Taiyuan

With the further development of China's reform and opening-up,the community began to assume more social functions to cope with complex social problems.However,the traditional work style and management model of neighborhood committee have been unable to meet the diverse needs of the community residents in the new era.Under the circumstance,China drawn on the experience of Western countries' community management,and began to introduce the social work,and guide social work involved in community building.Various regions began to explore community construction mode for local development around the country.In order to enhance the level of community service and the professionalism of community workers,Taiyuan City introduced the full-time social workers into community.However,since 2007,there have been few experts,scholars or institutions conducting a survey of this group.In this paper,the researcher took the full-time social workers in communities of Taiyuan as the object of investigation and study,and through the questionnaires to survey their current situation.At the same time,the researcher visited the community for field observation to collection some details that can reflect the full range of the full-time social workers of community.The researcher sampled 45 communities from all communities in Taiyuan City,and invited their full-time social workers to fill out the questionnaire.The survey mainly include the individual's basic situation,work conditions,living conditions and future planning in four aspects,specifically involving 20 variables.After the questionnaires are collected,the researcher analyzed the collected materials by means of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis to find out the advantages and problems of the team of community social workers.Finally,based on the results of the analysis,put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to those problems.Through this investigation,readers could find that the team of full-time social workers in community of Taiyuan has the trend of young,highly educated.They are generally satisfied with their current living conditions and working conditions.But they think their work tasks are heavy and work under pressure in practical work,and there is economic pressure to make ends and meet.In addition,there are some problems on construction and management of the team of full-time social workers in community of Taiyuan City,such as,the degree of professionalization is not high;the actual work is inconsistent with professional social work;training results cannot be implemented;salary is low;and lack of promotion opportunities.In order to solve these problems and to improve the current situation of full-time social workers in community and help to promote their development,the government should improve the system of construction and management of the team of full-time social workers in community;The community should create the environment for full-time social workers to carry out professional services,and strengthen the cohesion of the team.The full-time social workers in community should apply the professional values,ethics and working methods of social work to practice.Due to the limitations of time and the author's level,the survey did not conduct a survey on all social workers of communities in Taiyuan,but only selected some of them as the object of study.So the result is inevitably biased,at most,is only a preliminary study on the social workers of communities in Taiyuan.
