"National Medium and Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020)" emphasizes the importance of accelerating the informationization of vocational education,through the continuous improvement of vocational education e-government capacity and the level of digital campus and personnel information literacy,so as to reform traditional education with advanced educational technology and to promote the modernization of vocational education with information technology.Therefore,in order to understand the level of educational informatization in higher vocational colleges in Jilin Province in such a background,the paper studies their multimedia courseware making and operation by taking horticulture as an example.This article analyzes the main problems in the making and operation of multimedia courseware and puts forward some countermeasures in higher vocational colleges in Jilin Province by investigating the application status of multimedia courseware making and operationion in higher vocational colleges.In the paper,questionnaire survey was made among teachers and students from the following three schools: Vocational Colleges in Songyuan Vocational Technical College,Liaoyuan Vocational Technical College and Jilin City Vocational & Technical College interview with teachers were made to make up the defects of questionnaire.It was found that the making and operation of multimedia courseware in vocational colleges have the following problems:The school multimedia facilities need to be improved;the school doesn't pay enough attention on multimedia education technology,teachers have a bad command of professional audio and video software;there is a lack of innovation in course design and material searching,and have difficulty in playing courseware professionally in class.It is analyzed that teacher age,educational level,hardware equipment,training,courseware resources sharing all affect the above issues.Finally,improvement strategies were proposed as followed: at the school level,more young talents should be introduced,invest more on equipment update,set up modern educational technology center,devote more training efforts and attention on this.As for teachers,they should accept the concept of lifelong learning and education,improve teachers' courseware design and make ability;strengthen courseware operation,application and student interaction ability.
