With the formal launch of sunshiny sport activities at school by Ministry of Education,recess activities have become an important part of school administration.Recess activities can not only ease students' tension in classroom learning,but also promote students' physical and mental health.Recess activities are also an integral part of school culture.In recent years,there are many safety problems in the activities of elementary school students,such as trampling,running,eating,bullying and so on.The campus safety has been paid more and more attention to by the whole society.Recess mainly refers to the time for activities between two classes.The total time for recess activities of a student at school is 70 minutes.Except the big break between the second and third classes in the morning,the recess for other classes is a small break of 10 minutes.During recess,schools can arrange students to take a rest or participate in activities.Schools usually pay little attention to restraining and supervising primary school students during the recess.In particular,during the big break of 30 minutes,if no rational organization is put in place,many dangerous emergencies can easily take place due to negligence.After searching through relevant domestic and overseas literature,the author has considered real local conditions and adopted several research methods including questionnaire survey method,observational method and interview method.This research has selected a representative primary school in Haiyang city as a research object.Some headmasters,teachers and parents in these five schools have been interviewed randomly.In the questionnaire survey,30 questionnaires have been distributed to teachers,100 questionnaires to students.The current status of recess activities has been analyzed from these data.Through visiting relevant schools,the author has found that many problems exist in the recess activities of students in several schools: firstly,school leaders and teachers have a weak safety awareness and are not vigilant against safety accidents in recess activities;secondly,the form of recess activities is too monotonous and students have limited space and facilities for activities;thirdly,head teachers and course teachers do not pay adequate attention to recess management and are not active in participating instudent activities;fourthly,parents do not have adequate safety awareness and fail to remind students of the importance of safety in recess activities;fifthly,students cannot foresee emergency danger and lack essential knowledge on safety.Therefore,the author has put forward corresponding countermeasures: firstly,schools should clarify the importance of safety in recess activities and strengthen the safety awareness of students and teachers;secondly,safety education lectures should be regularly held and professional faculties should be built;thirdly,we should increase the expenditure on safety education and guarantee that there are adequate facilities for school activities;fourthly,teachers are supposed to participate in student activities to strengthen supervision and guidance on student recess activities;fifthly,we should strengthen students ' awareness of self-protection;sixthly,family members should cooperate with schools and parent committee members should participate in the supervision of recess activities with a focus on putting in place safety training system for parents and schools.
