Track and field,known as the“Mother of the Sport”for a long time,is one of the most basic sport events for human beings.Track and field athletics courses play a crucial role in the development of students' physical health.However,the physical quality of college students in our country has declined in recent years,so it is a problem that gradually decreasing interest and option rate of public sports track and field courses.It is difficult to arouse students' interest because of the single,boring content of traditional track and field courses,so that students lack enthusiasm for the course,and declining quality training will fail to reach the goal of physical education.Therefore,the public sports track and field courses in colleges and universities need not only development,but also the innovation of the course content itself,which will attract college students to return to the track and field.In 2000,the IAAF designed interesting track and field sports to promote the development of track and field.Interesting track and field sports innovated the content of the project and enriched the teaching methods.It is an athletics course to inspire students' interest and enhance their physical fitness.At present,it has been well applied in primary and secondary schools in our country and has been widely acclaimed,but rare in universities.The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of applying interesting track and field sport in public physical education classes in colleges and universities.Take the elective course of public sports track and field in Inner Mongolia Normal University as the research object.Students in two classes are selected as teaching experiment subjects,in which the control class conducts traditional track and field teaching and experimental class interesting track and field course.The teaching experiment method,the questionnaire survey method,the literature data method,the mathematical statistics method and other methods were used for the research.The results of the experiment were statistically analyzed.The conclusions were following: 1.through the investigation of the experimental school,we can see that the students are satisfied with the venue and equipment for the course;after the investigation and interview,it is also concluded that there are limitations for the course selection system,content,and teaching methods in the track and field courses.2.Through conducting interesting track and field teaching in experimental class in varied forms and with rich content,students can have a new experience.By investigating,it is found that students also had a high degree of satisfaction and interest in content,teaching methods of interesting track and field,training of track and field techniques,and extra-curricular life.The degree of interest in the content of interesting track and field events was 89%,and the degree of satisfaction of track and field techniques was 89%.The students' interest in interesting track and field content also reflects its good results.3.The investigation of classroom interest experience in the experimental class and the control class before and after experiment.The T-test P value results of the two classes in the novelty,challenging,attention,exploratory,pleasant feeling,and overall interest before the experiment are all greater than 0.05 with no significant difference;after the experiment,the T-test P value results of six aspects for students in both classes are all less than 0.01 with very significant differences.Interesting track and field arouses students' interest with innovative equipment,diverse projects,and rich content and teaching forms.Therefore,the degree of students' interest in the classroom experience is significantly higher than that of the control class.4.According to the results of the survey,through participating in interesting track and field,team leaders,referees,or ordinary players,are able to exercise and improve their own organizational management,cooperation and exchange,responsibility,and self-confidence.5.The T-test P-value results in the physical quality and body shape of two classes of students measured before the experiment are all greater than 0.05 with no significant difference.After the teaching experiment,the T-test P value results of three items for physical quality in the experimental class and the control class are less than 0.01 in the standing long jump,solid ball and 50 meters race with very significant difference,experimental class higher than the control class.Therefore,it is proved that interesting track and field has significantly improved the students' ability in the three items of standing long jump,50-meter race,and solid ball,compared to traditional track and field teaching.6.Through the above research,it is proved that interesting track and field teaching has a positive effect on the development of students' health physically and psychologically,and it also exposes the inadequacies of traditional track and field courses.It is hoped that the development and improvement of traditional track and field courses in colleges and universities in the future can draw lessons from the advantages of track and field to create a fun sports education environment for college students.
