Internet Social Support Of HIV/AIDS During The Interaction In Electronic Community

AIDS is worldwide infectious diseases.It makes the HIV sufferers or AIDS patient felt extremely terrible from both body and mind. It's even worse to them that discrimination from other pepole make them feel shameful and unfair. As Internet is convenient and secretive, AIDS patients have a new platform to speak exspecially on electronic community, they are trying to seek social support on this platform. How did the HIV/AIDS contact with each other? The online forum has provided what support for the HIV/AIDS? Is it relevant between the interaction and social support? The questiones came out.This study takes the BBS--“zhiai online”as example studies the HIV/AIDS's interaction and online social support behavior to clear their relation by using the theory of ethnomethodology,conversation analysis, social network analysis. Raising a hypothesis that members' higher involvement means more social support they will get.The main research use both qualitative and quantitative research.The first part classified the topics of conversation in the forum and analysed the different topics by using the observation method and text analysis method. The second part picked 400 posts posted before March 25,2015 as the sample by using content analysis. In this part, I used information matrix to clear the relationship among the members,used Netdraw to draw the message passing relation net and Ucinet to calculate the degree centricity. Based on the above pictures and forms, it's easier to clarify the structure of the online forum and analyse the situation of online social support.The research found that interaction among HIV/AIDS include ways of dialogue and different kinds of social support,such as self-disclousre?ask?sharing?confusion?recognition?encouragement?gratitude?advice?blessing?poking fun and emotional support?information support and conpanionship support. According to the degree of active, members in the forum can be divided for active members, regular members, normal members and receivers. Same with the excpectation, more frequently the members deliver messages, more social supports they will get. As a conclusion, if the members want to get more social supports, they should be more proactive. By the way, the opinion leaders in the BBS has its speacial features.The research of online social support and HIV/AIDS is lack in China. This research try to combine qualitative and quantitative methods together to make up the blank. It may be more systematic and complete. The shortcomings is that although the “zhiai online” has amout of members, it still has the properbility of unrepresentative. So if making comparative study of two online forums, the research should be more convincing.
