Subject-oriented service is gradually built up in the course of establishing and perfecting the subject librarian system.Subject library system was originated in some university libraries in the US in 1946.The domestic counterpart appeared quite late in China.It was not until 1998 that Tsinghua University had introduced subject librarian system first at home.Then other universities followed the practice quickly.Subject-oriented service refers to the professional and deep knowledge-based service provided by university libraries which organize staff and resources efficiently according to respective academic requirements and resource advantages in favor of teaching,studying,subject construction and academic research.The further progress of information digitization and networking brings about a dramatic change in users' access to information.In the context that e-resources increase massively and mobile service becomes the main serving method,how to put subject-oriented service into practice largely depends on the adoption of subject-oriented service tools.Good tools are essential things.A fully-functional subject service tool is the basis of subject-oriented service.It facilitates a close link among subject users,subject librarian and subject resources,makes subject-oriented service available,ubiquitous and personalized without space and region limit,and pools subject resources databases for the better information management and users' easier acquirement.So it is of great importance to study the subject-oriented service tools in the course of university libraries subject-oriented service.For this reason,this paper focuses on the analysis of the institutional repository,resources recommendation system and subject evaluation system.The first part is introduction.Based on the current big data environment,this part expounds the current research status of institutional repository at home and abroad,resources recommendation system and subject evaluation system,and points out the research significance,purposes and innovation.In this part,the main research content,method and strategy are confirmed clearly.The second part is the theoretical basis of the paper.It explains the concept,meaning and origin of subject-oriented service in Chinese university libraries.It also puts forward the requirements of "double top" for universities in our country,and analysis of the components of subject-oriented service,as well as three specific research tools including institutional repository,resources recommendation system and subject evaluation system.At last,it makes a brief definition of each tool.The third part consists of chapter?,chapter ? and chapter ?.It is also the most important part of the paper to study and explore the three tools.Chapter ? studies the university institutional repository including its definition,construction significance,functions in the context of subject-oriented service,system framework,data standard,construction procedure and the wide use in the field of discipline construction in universities.Chapter ? analyzes the resource recommendation system of university libraries including its current situation,functions,new demand geared to subject-oriented service and optimization program against the backdrop of information environment.Chapter V focuses on the subject evalxuation system in universities.It begins with the significance of subject evaluation system in Chinese universities.Then it illustrates the dominated subject evaluation systems both at home and abroad and their classification.Afterward,it puts forward the compilation methods of subject evaluation reports,and explains their classification based on different characters and users,selecting standards of compilation methods,and the four-hierarchy indexes system of subject evaluation.Finally,it confirms subject evaluation method and procedure.Chapter VI is the conclusion of the paper.This part proposes the suggestion to the upgrading of subject-oriented service and puts forward the deficiency in the paper.
