Research On The Evaluation Of University Library Website Based On Link Analysis

Twenty-first Century is the era of information technology development,the high level of information technology also promotes the digital and network development of the library.Especially,the development of high information technology has brought about great changes to University Library.Model library service model can give users more fast and efficient high-quality information services than Traditional library service do,and the library website has played a vital role.The website has become a window of library external communication,and it is also a concentrate reflection of library's service ability and service features.The evaluation of the library website is not only beneficial to using for the users,but also conducive to the improvement and development of the library website itself.Library Website Evaluation refers to the status quo based on the construction of the library website,Scientifically and normatively develop evaluation criteria,and according to the criteria to establish the index system as the basis for evaluation.It is a comprehensive way to collect all relevant information of the library website.Then compared with the library website targets to make a objective and scientific value evaluation.Evaluation is of great significance to the construction of library website and library information.Through the evaluation,we can determine the current situation of the library website and the basic situation of library network services.It is a important way for the construction and reformation of library website to evaluate library website scientifically,reasonably and objectively.And the evaluation can also manifest the value and social image of the library.Therefore,a harmonious and reasonable evaluation method becomes significant.However,domestic evaluation of the library website appeared later than the abroad.To sum up the main criteria evaluation are multi-criteria evaluation,multi-side evaluation and functional characteristics evaluation.The main reason why there are some shortcomings in these evaluation studies is that there is a certain degree of subjectivity in the establishment of evaluation index system and evaluation method.With the deepening of social information,the domestic university library managements also pay more attention to their construction of digitalize and automation of library.As a window of information service and communication of university,the level of library website construction is directly related to the quality of library information services and the spread of their own image effect.This paper summarizes the domestic and foreign literatures on the evaluation of the library website,and use the link analysis method to evaluate the website.Link analysis method is a research method which use network database,mathematical analysis software(mainly combined with mathematical statistics and topology)and methods of information science to analysis properties of the network link,link object,link network and other objects,so as to reveal the number of features and internal rules,and solve all kinds of problems.So this paper attempts to use the link analysis method to evaluate the construction level of the “ 985 Project ” University Library Website,and hope to provide some suggestions and references for the construction and optimization of University Library Website.The main contents of this paper are as follows:The main content of the first chapter is to summarize the purpose,significance and research situation of University Library Website Evaluation based on the investigation of the relevant literature,reviewed the literature review on domestic and foreign website evaluation in recent years,and then summed up several evaluation methods in common use.The second chapter elaborates the principle of link analysis method and application of link analysis,and analyze the advantage of using link analysis method to determine the weight.The third chapter is based on the study of the situation of the current evaluation of university library website,combined with the situation of the construction of university library website and proposed a set of index system of university library website based on link analysis.Then,this chapter under the principle of link analysis method,tries to use link analysis to determine the weight of indexes.The fourth chapter is to select the 39 “ 985 Project ” University Library Website as the research object.Using Baidu search and Webmaster tools as survey tools to statistics the data of 7 link indexes and 3 flow indexes in fixed time,and using component analysis method to analyze the data.Through the results of the analysis to evaluate various university library websites.The fifth chapter elaborates the research conclusion,the insufficiency and the research prospect of this article.
