The SQ oilfield is close to the hydrocarbon generating center in Shengbei subsag and its Jurassic reservoir is an anticlinal structure complicated by many micro-faults. The reservoir is controlled by faulted blocks with complex oil-water contacts, and different blocks have different oil-water interfaces. With the development of the oilfield proceeds, the question of how to extend the production capability of the zone and increase oil production has become the key questions in rolling exploitation. Micro-fault distribution would have a great impact on oil distribution of remaining oil from complicated geologic settings. It is very difficult to identify micro-fault with small fault throws using stratigraphic correlation, or on conventional seismic profiles. How to improve micro-fault characterization with existing seismic data and find new favorable target areas would is crucial to rolling and extending exploitation of mature oilfields. In this paper, I completed the fine structural interpretation of the Jurassic Qiketai reflective layer based on high-precision seismic data by using the GeoEast interpretation software; and figured out the structural characteristics, reservoir characteristics and the main controlling factors of the target layer in the study area. At the same time, by collecting and reading the literatures of the seismic attributes, I have mastered the concept, classification and geological significance of the post-stack seismic attributes, and the methods of seismic attribute analysis, and analyzed both the development history, present situation of the seismic attribute analysis technology, and the development tendency of the technology of fault identification. I have analyzed the parameters setting, meaning and its impact on the prediction effect of the coherence and the curvature of the seismic attribute analysis module in the GeoEast interpretation software and optimized the sensitive parameters for the geological characteristics of the study area. In the end, the morphology of micro-fault is depicted in detail through the application of the key measures, such as slice view, engraving and calculation along the target layer,3D space fusion and PC A property compression analysis and so on. In this paper, I have used the combination of multi-methods to verify the micro-fault distribution characteristics, to guide the structure interpretation and the implementation of the favorable fault block traps. Finally, though the comprehensive utilization of seismic, logging, geology and reservoir dynamic information, I have carried out comprehensive evaluation and submitted favorable drilling wells to extend the production capability of the old oilfield. In this paper, I have summed up a suitable set of post-stack seismic attribute analysis techniques for micro-fault identification in the study area.
