Application Research Of TPU Film Material Re-engineering In Garment Design

With the rapid development of science and technology and the widespread use of the Internet, the thought of postmodernism is affecting the world at an amazing rate. In costume design field, the style of postmodernism strives its new ways with the designers breaking traditional design thinking by pursuing novelty and creativity in fashion style and color collocation. At the same time, the designers also focuses on innovation and application of clothing fabric—a secondary reconstruction of the fabric to design new—to fully demonstrate the emphasis of the pursuit of.In this paper, the author mainly studies on one of the postmodernist new high-tech materials: TPU film and also on new technology and application relating to TPU in design.The thesis contents the following aspects:(1) An introduction of film material, mainly from those aspects as: the concept, category, properties and application range.(2) An research for creative design style and an exploration of the relationship between the creative design style and the fashion design and application of TPU film by a combinative researching of the characteristics of modern costume style, aesthetic habits and cultural characteristics of TPU film. And(3) Practical application of TPU film reconstruction innovation: corresponding usage of different kinds of TPU film in specific designing.Through the relevant research of innovative reconstruction of the material of TPU film, the author draws practical results by means of studying design practices. The design and exploration of TPU thin film materials’ innovation and redesign explore a wider development space for the application of TPU thin film in the clothing design and be in conjunction with the contemporary postmodernist style clothing design concepts.
