China is rich in turpentine resources and turpentine is used in a wide range of applications.The basic physical property data of turpentine systems is essential in industrial production and scientific research.However,in-depth study and summary of its basic properties is still lack;its some basic physical properties of data is difficult to be obtained by experiment.So that it is important to carry out scientific calculations for thermodynamic properties of turpentine system to obtain reliable physical properties.Moreover,because turpentine derivatives are numerous and the use of traditional manual query can’t meet the engineering needs well,it is very necessary to establish a query system that can quickly get one of the thermodynamic properties of turpentine and its derivatives to facilitate users.In this paper,thermodynamic properties of turpentine compounds and their derivatives are estimated and measured;query system is established on this basis.The main research contents are as follows:First of all,more accurate estimation methods are used to estimate 41 kinds of turpentine compounds and their derivatives.Through comparing literature values and estimated values,it is inferred that which estimation methods are suitable for turpentine system:more appropriate estimation method of critical temperature,critical pressure and boiling point is C-G method;more appropriate estimation method of critical volume is Joback method;more appropriate estimation method of the standard formation enthalpy of the gas is Benson method;more appropriate estimation method of standard free energy is C-G method;using C-G method and Benson method to estimate gas standard specific heat capacity in 298.15K is quite similar;more appropriate estimation method of liquid specific heat capacity in 298.15K is Chueh group-contribution method.Estimation method of vaporization enthalpy in 298.15K is Riedel method.Secondly,part of the thermodynamic properties of high purity turpentine and its derivatives which can be obtained are measured.Through comparing measured values,estimated values and literature values,reliability of estimation methods is further verified.Simultaneous thermal analyzer is used to determine the boiling point,enthalpy of vaporization and heat capacity of α-pinene,β-pinene and so on eight kinds of turpentine and its derivatives.Results further prove that C-G method is more suitable for estimation of boiling point;Riedel method is more suitable for estimation of vaporization enthalpy;Chueh group-contribution method is more suitable for estimation of liquid specific heat capacity.Oxygen bomb calorimeter was used to determine combustion heat of eight kinds above,and the standard formation enthalpy of the gas is obtained.Results further prove that Benson method is more suitable for estimation of the standard formation enthalpy of gas.Use surface tension meter to determine surface tension of α-pinene,β-pinene and so on six kinds of turpentine and its derivatives.Results prove that the Brock-Bird method is more suitable for estimation of surface tension.Then,the relevant thermodynamic properties whicn are obtained from the study are used to analyze thermodynamically for esterification reaction of α-terpineol generates α-terpinyl acetate.And thermodynamic feasibility is verified by experiment.Finally,the relevant physical property data whicn are obtained from the study is used to establish the query system of turpentine and its derivatives.
