The prospect of hydrocracking C9 arenes which was the important byproduct from process of producing ethylene was summarized simply in this paper.The current situation,application and highly processed technologies of hydrocracking C9 arenes were introduced minutely.At the same time,the prospect and the economic valuableness were presented deeply,as well as indane's extensive uses and preparation methods.With extracting styrene and dicyclopentadiene from hydrocracking C9 arenes previously,the heavy C9 arenes were hydrotreated,which were called the heavy hydrotreating cracked C9 arenes in the article.The method which combined continuous distillation with extractive distillation was adopted to refine indane fraction from heavy hydrotreating cracked C9 arenes,which could be used to perfect the highly processed technologies of hydrocracking C9 arenes.Experiment apparatus of single stage vapor-liquid equilibrnum was set up.Vapor-liquid equilibrium data of solvents-heavy hydrotreating cracked C9 arenes was measured and simulated.Dioctyl phthalate was selected as the best solvent.The result will be provided for extractive distillation experiment and stimulation of refining indane fraction from heavy hydrotreating cracked C9 arenes.Continuous distillation was simulated by Aspen Plus,and the conditions of simulation such as number of column plates,output rate,plate of input and reflux ratio were studied.The experimental apparatus of continuous distillation was established,and experimental study was carried out on the basis of theoretical simulation data,which was obtained by Aspen Plus simulation.The experimental results showed that the purity of indane was 86.35%with the yield of 92.05%,under the conditions of that tower height was 160cm,input height was 90cm,feeding speed was 2g/min,distillation flow rate was 0.62g/min,and reflux ratio was 5.Extractive distillation was simulated by Aspen plus as well,and the conditions of simulation such as solvent ratio,output rate,plate of input,reflux ratio,and number of column plates were studied.The experimental apparatus of extractive distillation was set up,and experimental study was carried out on the basis of theoretical simulation data,which was obtained by Aspen Plus simulation.The experiment results showed that the purity of indane was 96.93%with the yield of 93.51%under the conditions of that tower height was 200cm,input height was 105cm,feeding speed was 2g/min,solvent's feeding speed was 6g/min,distillation flow rate was 0.28g/min,and reflux ratio was 5.The solvent,dioctyl phthalate was used circularly.The method which combined continuous distillation with extractive distillation was adopted to refine indane fraction from heavy hydrotreating cracked C9 arenes.In the optimal conditions,the purity of indane was enhanced to 96.93%,and yield of 86.08%can be achieved.The result of this work will be provided for further research.
