Alginate fiber is a new type of high technology textile fiber,useing Marine biological resources as raw material,and it shows nature flame retardant ability,antimicrobial ability,biodegradable properties,hemostatic ability and many other properties.With the progress of alginate fiber manufacture technology and popularize application of alginate fiber textiles,research on using natural extracts as alginate fiber dope dyeing coloring agent or Functional additives become very urgent.On account of the alginate fiber dyeing and finishing was difficult,and the dissolve lost of water soluble natural extracts during wet spinning.Non-water soluble natural extracts has a special ability,which can not easily dissolve into the coagulating bath,in this paper we prepared colored and functionalized alginate fiber respectively.First,we prepared a non-water soluble Copper C hlorophyll nano dispersion alginate fiber spinning solution system by a short time ball-milling and High-speed hybrid.The coloring spinning solution was characterized by rheological measurements,stability test and TEM.Than colored alginate fiber was prepared by a wet spinning process.The results shows milling and sodium alginate solution solved the problem of C hl-Cu nano-particles conglomerating,the agglomeration of Chl-C u nano-particles is successfully reduced and even eliminated,and the size of nano C hl-Cu is under 20 nm.The C hl-Cu was efficiency stabilized by Copper ion chelating structure around the surface of nano-particles and the hydrogen-bond interaction.The alginate fiber spinning solution has a good stability.The dyed alginate fiber has a good water resistance transference ability and flame retardant ability,the LOI is above 37.Besides,In this paper we use sepia,which is a common Seafood processing industry waste,as a raw material Colord and functionalized alginate fiber.ME,which has both photo-protection and coloration function,was extracted from sepia by a simple extraction process.SEM,TEM,rheological measurements,UV/VIS absorb test and IR test was used in sample characterization.The test rsults prove a unbroken sepia black pigment,includeing shell and core structure,was contained in ME,and it has a perfect compatibility with SA.The stability of spinning solution is the best,when the contents of ME is under 3%.ME-SA complex fiber has a super performance of color fastness to water,when the ME additive amount in alginate fiber is 3%(ME/SA),the ME-SA complex fiber has a idealy coloring effect and UV-shielding performance,and its average shielding effect can reach 75%,especially UVB-shielding effect can up to 85%.The ME-SA complex fiber has a good fibre strength and the flame retardant ability of ME-SA complex fiber is outstanding,the lowest LOI still can achieve39.
