Salen type lanthanide complexes are currently of great interest not only because of their fascinating variety of structures but also their potential applications in the fields of luminescence, magnetism and catalysis. In this paper, nine two-dimensional salen-type lanthanide complexes were successfully synthesized by the reaction of substituted N,N'-bis?salicylidene?-1,2-cyclohexanediamine and Ln?NO3?3·6H2O?Ln=Ce,Pr,Nd,Tb,Ho,Er,Yb?.The single crystals of these complexes were obtained by using facile solution diffusion?SD?method and were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The luminescence and catalytic properties of these complexes were investigated and discussed. The results listed as following:A series of two-dimensional complexes[Ln2?H2L1?3?NO3?6][Ln=Tb?1?,Ce?2?,Pr?3?,Nd?4?,Ho?5?,Er?6?,Yb?7?]were synthesized by the reaction of H2L1and Ln?NO3?3·6H2O?Ln=Ce,Pr,Nd,Tb,Ho,Er,Yb?.The two-dimensional complexes[Pr?H2L2?1.5?NO3?3]?8?and[Pr?H2L3?1.5?NO3?3]?9?were obtained by reacting Pr?NO3?3·6H2O with H2L2 and H2L3 respectively.Ni/Ce-H2L1 was acquired by the reaction of Ni?NO3?2·6H2O and complex 2.A highly strong metal-support interaction and dispersed CeO2 supported Ni catalyst?Ni/CeO2-1?was synthesized via coordination-assisted strategy. This catalyst exhibits much higher catalytic activity for hydrogenation of nitrobenzene than the traditional CeO2 supported Ni catalyst?Ni/CeO2-0?.The complexes 3-9 show near infrared luminescence.Ni/Ce-MOF was prepared by the reaction of Ni?NO3?2·6H2O and Ce-MOF.Ni/CeO2-2 was synthesized via coordination-assisted strategy. The catalytic activity of Ni/CeO2-2 in nitrobenzene reduction was explored.
