Fiber orientation and fiber diameter are important parameters of textile materials.Fiber orientation distribution determines the mechanical anisotropy of textile materials,which affects the performance of textile materials.Nano-fiber materials with uniform orientation have important applications in fuel cells,biomedicine and other fields.The size of the fiber diameter not only has a great influence on fiber strength,elongation,rigidity and elasticity,but also has a close relationship with the feel,style of the textile and the processing of the yarn and fabric.Quick and accurate measurement of fiber orientation and fiber diameter is of great importance in evaluation on product performance and improvement on the manufacturing process.The research in this paper is based on the fiber images collected by SEM,it mainly includes two aspects.Firstly,a method of measurement on the degree of orientation of textile fiber by short-time Fourier transform is proposed.The fiber image is regarded as a global non-smooth but local smooth signal and a window function that is flat in the middle and decaying around was used to window local smooth regions and perform short-time Fourier transform.Fiber orientation was measured by spectral analysis.The method can not only reduce the boundary effect of the spectrogram,but also avoid the problem of directly processing the global image and ignoring the details.Secondly,the method of fiber diameter measurement of textile materials based on phase information is proposed.The improved Kuwahara filter is used to filter the fiber image and enhance the foreground object.Then the method of phase consistency is used to detect the edge of the fiber.The edge is repaired,including deleting the crossing point,the burr and the short line,and connecting the edge to the edge.Based on the repaired result,the single fiber is identified.The spatial position and direction information of each pixel in the axial line of the single fiber are determined.The boundary pixels are found by scanning in the vertical direction along the central axis,and finally the fiber diameter is calculated.The experimental results show that the proposed fiber orientation and fiber diameter measurement methods can measure the parameters accurately and effectively.
