With the double problems of energy and environmental destruction,energy conservation and environmental protection have become the consensus of people.Energy conservation and emission reduction has become an important direction for the healthy development of the construction industry and architectural design.We should not only be interested in the research and application of energy saving materials,technology and equipment,but also pay attention to the most common design method of passive energy saving.Passive energy saving design is a part of architectural design,it is one of the effective design methods for architects in design practice,easy to understand and easy to operate,The application of passive energy saving design is reflected in the whole process of building green design,it is suitable for the current construction technology level in China.Due to the special climatic conditions in cold region,the public buildings in this area have high energy consumption and great energy saving potential during the construction phase and operation process,it has great energy saving potential.It is of practical significance to use passive energy saving design for public buildings in cold region,which has a positive effect on the development of green energy saving buildings,this will also affect the future direction of the construction industry.In this paper,we use the theory to contact the actual research methods,in the design practice of Qitai Hanmatou cultural and sports center project,the passive energy saving design strategy is studied and applied.This paper first summarizes the development history of passive energy saving from the longitudinal historical evolution of relevant subject achievement and engineering practice at home and abroad,and puts forward the problems of developing passive energy saving in our country.Secondly,it analyzes the climatic characteristics of cold region and the present situation of energy consumption of public buildings in our country.According to the energy consumption of public buildings in cold region,combining with the passive energy saving means of local traditional buildings,then it puts forward the passive energy saving strategy suitable for the climatic characteristics of cold region.Thirdly,the paper studies the climatic conditions in Qitai County and summarizes the passive design strategies that adapt to the climate characteristics of Qitai County and puts forward the passive design strategy for Qitai Hanmatou cultural and sports center project.Finally,according to the logical sequence from the planning design to the architectural design,the application of the passive design strategy in Qitai Hanmatou cultural and sports center project is discussed,to further demonstrate the adaptability and extensibility of passive energy saving design for public buildings in cold region.This paper is the application of a public building in cold region of passive energy saving design,the related data,tables and images in this paper are discussed and analyzed systematically for the passive energy saving design of public buildings in cold region,it provides feasible suggestions and valuable references for the application of passive energy saving.
