Objectives: To observe the clinical effects of Jian Pihuoxuejiedu Decoction combining with Functional exercise. And to evaluate its safety and efficacy.in order to seek a new reasonable treatment of Upper limb lymphedem after Breast cancer operation.Methods:62 patients chosen for the study were randomly divided into two groups: the treating group(treated with Jian Pihuoxuejiedu Decoction combining with Functional exercise) and the controlled group(treated with Functional exercise) with thirty-two patients in each group. A course of treatment has 4 weeks, and researched 2 courses continuously.Record the data of liimb circumference change,shoulder motion, each patient’s main symptoms, EORTC QLQ-C30.Results:(1)The effect of treatment group on improving the swelling of injured extremity was significantly better than control group(p<0.05);(2)For shoulder motion,activity over the previous two shoulder had improved, but after treatment, flexion, extension increased activity than the control group(P <0.05), aspects of abduction, adduction, there is no significant difference between the two groups( P> 0.05);(3)The improvement of clinical syndromes of Traditional Chinese Medicine score in treatment group is superior to that in control group(P<0.05).Comparison of the overall curative effect, the totle effective rate was(87.10)% in treatment group, higher than in control group(61.29%)(P<0.05).(4)For the improvement of the physical function, the emotional function, total health conditions Fatigue, diarrhea,constipation, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and pain scores in EORTC QLQ-C30 QOL questionnaire of patients, the treated group is better than the other one(P < 0.05),Other aspects of comparison with the control group no significant difference.Conclusions:Jian Pihuoxuejiedu Decoction combining with Functional exercise can reduce the affected side upper limb swelling,increase shoulder mobility and improve the clinical symptoms and patients ’ life quality. This decoction can be further extended and as one of effective treatments in patients with upper limb lymphedem. |
