A Meta-analysis Of The Efficacy And Safety Of Huangqi As A Traditional Chinese Medicine Compound For The Treatment Of Diabetic Nephropathy

Purpose:To assess the effectiveness and safety of Huangqi complex on treating diabetic nephropathy(DN)systematically.Material and method : According to the Cochrane system evaluation method,we comprehensively collected randomized controlled trials of Huangqi complex on treating diabetic nephropathy until December 2016,by using the computer to retrieve the Pub Med、CNKI、Wan Fang database and retrieving the relevant literature published in the magazine manually.The quality of the included studies was evaluated with modified Jadad rating scale,Meta analysis of dichotomous data was performed with software Rev Man 5.3.Odds ratio(OR)and 95% confidence interval(95%CI)for counting material was elected.Meta analysis of continuous data was performed with weighted mean differences(MD)and 95% CI.Results:1.15 randomized clinical trials which got three or more points after Jadad scale score were included,involving 1156 cases of diabetic nephropathy.2.In the aspect of safety :(1)Huangqi complex in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy compared with controls was statistically different significance,total OR=3.51,95%CI=(2.48,4.95),P<0.00001.(2)Huangqi complex in terms of reduced fasting blood glucose in patients with diabetic nephropathy compared with controls was statistically different significance,total MD=-0.61,95%CI=(-0.93,-0.28),P=0.0002.(3)Huangqi complex in terms of reduced blood glucose of two hours after the meal in patients with diabetic nephropathy compared with controls was statistically different significance,total MD=-0.85,95%CI=(-1.18,-0.51),P<0.00001.(4)Huangqi complex in terms of reduced urinary albumin in patients with diabetic nephropathy compared with controls was statistically different significance,total MD=-25.38,95%CI=(-32.74,-18.01),P<0.00001.(5)Huangqi complex in terms of reduced 24 hours urinary protein quantitative in patients with diabetic nephropathy compared with controls was statistically different significance,total MD=-0.37,95%CI=(-0.51,-0.24),P<0.00001.3.In the aspect of effectiveness : we can assume that Huangqi complex on treating diabetic nephropathy(DN)systematically has no serious adverse reactions.Conclusion:Huangqi complex is a kind of drug which is relatively safe and effective on treating DN.
