| Lonicera japonica Thunb.has played a critical role in fighting the influenza virus.Lonicera japonica Thunb.and Lonicerae Flos are belong to multiple sources which is a typical phenomenon of the traditional Chinese medicine.Lonicera japonica Thunb.and Lonicerae Flos were separated by the Pharmacopoeia of the people’s Republic of China in 2005,while the efficacy of them were described as "heat clearing and detoxifying,evacuation wind-heat".The differences in antiviral between these two medicinals were not clear,which resulting into chaos and deviation in clinical and pharmaceutical industry,while the differences of anti-influenza between them were not reported.The object of this study was to clarify the differences of efficacy in anti-influenza virus betweenLonicera japonca;Thunb.and Lonicerae Flos by observing life expectancy of viral infected mice,the lung tissue inflammation inhibition of infected mice,immune organ index,T-cells subgroup,proliferation of spleen lymphocyte and the content of cytokines and immunoglobulin.which could reveal the mechanism behind these these effects.Finally,a comprehensive evaluation of antiviral efficacy with Lonicera japonica Thunb.and Lonicerae Flos was constructed.The main results were as follows:1.LD50 was 10-3.2/50μL after the proliferation of influenza virus in chicken embryo.The drug group could prolong the mean survival days of pneumonia mice,however,there was no significant differences between drug treated groups and virus group in death protection rate of pneumonia.The death protection rate of pneumonia mice from high to low in order is Lonicera Confusa DC.,Lonicera.fulvotomentosa Hsu.,Lonicera hypoglauca Miq.,Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz.,Lonicera japonica Thunb.2.Lung index:Lonicera japonica Thunb.could significantly inhibit the lung index of infected mice(P<0.05),and the lung index of the drug group from low to high was Lonicera japonica Thunb.,Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz.,Lonicera hypoglauca Miq.Lonicera Confusa DC,Lonicera fulvotomentosa Hsu.,which suspecting that lung inflammation of mice has been in recovery.According to hemagglutination titer,the hemagglutination only appeared in virus group,which proved that Lonicera japonica Thunb.and Lonicera Flos were effective to inhibit and kill influenza virus.Histopathological of the lung tissue were analyzed and the result showed that the inflammation of lung tissue had improved significantly,a small amount of inflammatory cells infiltrated in drug groups,while there was no differences among the drug groups in improvement of lung inflammation.The results indicated that Lonicera japonica Thunb.and Lonicera Flos had significantly improved the lung inflammation.3 Effect of Lonicera japonica Thunb.and Lonicerae Flos on Lung cell apoptosis percentage in influenza virus infected mice were investigated by AnnxinV-FITC/PI double staining method,and the result showed that the level of inhibition on cell apoptosis in Lonicera hypoglauca Miq.was highest of all drug groups,while there was no significant difference between drup groups and virus group.The drug group of lung tissue apoptosis percentage from low to high in turn is:Lonicera hypoglauca Miq.,Lonicera Confusa DC.,Lonicera fulvotomentosa Hsu.,Lonicera nacranthoides Hand.-Mazz.,Lonicera japonica Thunb.,especially there was no significant differences between Lonicera hypoglauca Miq.and ribavirin.4.The immunization effect on mice infected with influenza virus are mainly represented in the following aspects;(1)There was a significantly increase in spleen index of Lonicera japonica Thunb.All herb medicine could significantly improve the thymus index.Overall.in terms of immune organ index,Lonicera japonica Thunb and Lonicera Flos could restore and increase the immunity of mice.(2)Subset of T lymphocyte:The percentage of CD4+ T lymphocyte in Lonicera hypoglauca Miq.and Lonicera Confusa DC.have significantly higher level than virus group(P<0.01).There were no significant differences among the drug groups in percentage of CD8+ T lymphocyte and CD4+/CD8+ T lymphocyte.In terms of CD4+/CD8+T lymphocyte percentage,from high to low in turn is:Lonicera hypooglauca Miq.,Lonicera C.onfusa DC.,Lonicera ja.ponica Thunb.,Lonicera macran.thoid.es Hand.-Mazz.,Lonicera fulvotomentosa Hsu.In general,Lonicera hypoglauca Miq.,Lonicera Confusa DC.could make the CD4+/CD8+ return to balance state better.(3)Proliferation of spleen lymphocyte:Lonicera ma.cranthoides Hand.-Mazz.prominently increased the proliferation of spleen lymphocyte in mice infected with influenza virus(P<0.05).Influence of lymphocyte proliferation on mice infected with influenza virus,from high to low was Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz.,Lonicera hypoglaucafulvotomentosa Miq.,Lonicera Confusa DC.,Lonicera japonica Thunb.,Lonicera fulvotomentosa Hsu.(4)Cytokines and immune globulin:Lonicera hypoglaucafulvotomentosa Miq.has significantly increased IgG levels(P<0.05),while other groups have increased some extent compared to virus group,but there was no significant differences among them.Lonicera hypoglaucafulvotomentosa Miq.,Lonicera Confusa DC.,and Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz.,could significantly inhibit the rising of IFN-γ of infected mice(P<0.05).All herb medicine could significantly inhibit the level of IL-1β of flu-infected mice except Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz..which indicated that the level of inflammatory factor decreased could reduce the inflammation of lung tissue damage by IL-1β.(5)Partial least squares analysis and HPLC-MS indicate that antivirus material basis of Lonicerae Japonicae Flos.and four varieties of Lonicerae Flos were chlorogenic acid,caffeic
