The benefits of altruism have been understood for a long time. Just as an old sayings says “to the person rose, the hand have lingering fragrance”. A sentence in the bible says “it is more blessed to give than to receive”. A research showed that whether one was really doing good deeds or imagined himself doing good deeds, it could enhance personal physical strength, will power and tenacity(Gray, 2010). What’s more, if somebody always provided assistance to other family members in the family life, his mortality rate was lower than that of the recipients(Brown, Nesse, Vinokur &Smith, 2003). In social life, the youth who participated in volunteer activities had a significantly lower risk of cardiovascular disease(Schreier, Schonert-Reichl & Chen,2013). Although at present there are many researches on the association of altruism with health and the effects of physical function on the mental health of athletes and the elderly, there were limited studies on the association of altruism with physical function. This study is based on altruism theory to explore its action in physical functions. This research not only further enriches the understanding of altruism and health, but also helps people establish correct views on helping others. It has a positive role in promoting social harmony and civilization. The subjects in the study were college students. The study conducted four behavioral experiments through adopting altruistic priming technology to start subjects’ altruism experience. Four experiments all adopted between-subject design to explore effect of altruism experience on body function. The first experiment measured the time of front raising dumbbell. The second experiment measured the time of holding hand grips. The third experiment measured subjects’ evaluation of heavy stuffs and the fourth experiment measured subjects’ walking time. The results demonstrated that:1.The altruistic experience had significant influence on body power. The time of front raising dumbbell and holding hand grips in altruism experience group was obviously longer than those in the control group. The weights evaluated by altruism experience group were significantly lighter than that in the control group.2.Altruism experience had significant influence on speed. The subjects in altruistic needed less time to finish the walking task than the control group.
