The script of the stage play "Gone Hometown" tells a story of a man who far away from home for many years return back his country to try find his old home.Octogenarian Hu Qizhi has over the years to escape the fact that his family died in the war,he afraid to return home and his heart suffered torture.Finally,after illness,he took courage and go back home together with his most beloved grandson Hu Gui.Hu Gui deeply influenced by Chinese culture.After returning home,Hu Qizhi suffer from the barriers to communication and loss his state.Hu Gui was troubled in the cultural choice of a contradiction and begin to self-enclosed.A misunderstanding occurred between them.Then Hu Qizhi decided to look for old home alone.But he could not find it.He recalled a lot of good old days but when he known the old home was under the lake,he fell into despair.In the process of looking for his grandfather,Hu Gui has initiative to contact the home culture.Gradually,he come together with his grandfather’s soul.When he eat a fish,which taste like his grandfather’s cooking.He got a key to open the hometown’s culture.Finally,he found his grandfather.Hu Gui brought Hu Qizhi a hope to go back home.Hu Qizhi redeemed themselves and Hu Gui finished the cultural choice.After many years,Hu Gui grow into a successful writer.When he recalls the past,he answered the questions about "who I am? "In the elaboration of the script,I explained the choice of theme,people mental performance,select of the dramatic structure,creation principles and practices.And I explained the problems in the creative process,the process of thinking,the way I resolve the problem.And summed up my feelings and harvest.The script creation is a tribute to Huizhou Culture.Theme reflects my thinking on "Culture and Human Relations",people is their culture behind.Moreover,It is also a think result of the ontology of theater."Why do we need theater? " Because the theater is more good at performance of the human mind than the movie.We can’t turn a blind eye to the those souls,who suffer suffering in the same space with us.Therefore,I chose the expressionism as my creative principle,because it always pay attention to explain the character’s soul.I borrowed the way in Chinese poetry,express grief with beautiful views.I focus on the psychological description of Hu Qizhi and Hu Gui.So that all character,action,plot development all along the characters soul,naturally flowing out.
