| This is a qualitative research aims at the current psychology of a special group-----the aged who has suffered leprosy. This study uses semi-structured interview of qualitative research method, aiming at discussing the protective factors in the elderly rehabilitation resilience. This study adopt a method of interview to collect data from five old people who live in different Rehabilitation villages, and got a comprehensive understanding of their living environment through going deep into these villages. every old man has been interviewed in a deep-going way and takes about 6 hours in all, the data of interview about 36 thousand words.After suffering from the leprosy, the aged who has suffered leprosy results in a series of psychological trauma includes feeling inferior, feeling out of control on life, resulting in a series of emotional experience like shame, despair, sadness, helplessness and causing social avoidance behavior. While some protective factors affect their mental health, reduce the impact of the crisis.Through researching the related literature and analyzing the interview data, this study reached the following conclusions. The mental elastic protective factors of the ancient who has recovered from Leprosy are made up of the two parts:external protective factors and internal protective factors.(1)Internal protective factors include the following parts. Personality characteristics:The open-minded attitude towards life-the character of independent and firm、respect for each other’s attitude、 changes in levels of self-esteem and the growth of self-consciousness、thanksgiving and care for each other.Behavior:Life interest. Psychological resources:respect for each other’s attitude、life satisfaction、 face to reality、expectations for life. Cognitive style:Cognition to the disease、social environment、self-survival environment、interpersonal relationship. Coping way: Escape、patience、catharsis、problem solving(2)External protective factors include the following parts. Social environment: The impact of social change、companion’s support. Family environment:family influence. Charity environment:the intervention of external public organization. |
