Public Questionnaire On The Classification Of Wisdom

Wisdom is one of the hotspots of Psychological research, mainly researches wisdom’s definitions and structures, types, measurement methods and the relationship with other related variables. This research mainly used the questionnaire to explore people’s perspectives about the categories of wisdom. The investigation was separated into two parts:(1) the classification of characters of wisdom; (2) the classification of wise person.In research 1, the classification about characters of wisdom was discussed. Firstly,40 characters of high frequency were selected from a lot of wisdom characters through the open-questionnaire, then add 14 characters to questionnaire from relevant literature. Secondly, the top 32 important characters were selected, and then another group of subjects were asked to value them. Thirdly, subjects assorted these 32 characters freely, the result was analyzed by Multi-Dimensional Scaling and Hierarchical Clustering program. Conclusions are as follows:(1) it did exist the classification of "wisdom in humanities & social sciences" and "natural wisdom" in people’s mind; (2) creativity is one of main characters of wisdom.In research 2, the classification about wise person was discussed. Firstly, by the open-questionnaire,40 wise man of high frequency were collected, then add some wise man to questionnaire from relevant literature. Secondly, subjects screened out the top 30 wise person, and then another group of subjects were asked to value them. Thirdly, subjects freely assorted these 30 wise person, the result was analyzed by Multi-Dimensional Scaling and Hierarchical Clustering program. Conclusions are as follows:(1) the classification of "people with wisdom in humanities & social sciences" and "people with natural wisdom" did exist in people’s mind; (2) the wise are mainly politicians and the elite of science and technology in people’s mind.All studies revealed that:it did exist the classification of "wisdom in humanities & social sciences and natural wisdom" and the classification of "people with wisdom in humanities & social sciences and people with natural wisdom" in people’s mind, it corresponds with the main ideas of the wisdom theory of integrating intelligence with morality.
