Implicit learning is a process in which learners can quickly acquire complex information in a rapidly changing environment. It can occurs in different sensory modalities, even in different input formats. So researchers believe that as long as the internal rules of learning is same, different stimulus input will not affect the results of implicit learning. However, some studies have shown that representation of implicit knowledge is not completely abstract,to some extent it still contains encoding perceptual features of stimulus. There are differences in implicit learning in different stimulus input patterns, and the type of stimulus, presentation ways, presentation speed, etc.are variables of input pattern.Researches found that visual and auditory implicit learning had a preference to the form of different stimuli. For example, vision appears to process input best when it is spatially, whereas audition appears to process input best when it is temporally. And presentation speed of stimulus will have an impact on implicit learning.Auditory implicit learning is better when presenting rapidly, and visual implicit learning will be improved when presenting slowly. But researchers did not give a clear answer about the relationship between the stimulus input pattern and the implicit learning effect. Moreover, previous studies focused on the effects of single-modality stimulus input on implicit learning, but the perception environment in reality is rarely limited to a pattern of stimulus. Therefore,we explored the implicit learning under the multi-modality stimulus input, and examine the influence of the form of presentation and the presentation on implicit learning. It also reflected the acquisition of tacit knowledge and provides new evidences for the study of implicit learning. There are 137 students took part in two experiment, with Artificial Grammar Learning tasks was used,in order to explore the effects of stimulus input formats and presentation rate on implicit learning. The results showed that:(1)At the faster presentation rate, auditory learning was significantly better than visual learning, but there was no significant difference between visual-spatial condition and visual-temporal condition.(2)At the slower presentation rate, learning abilities were best for visual-spatial input than visual-temporal and auditory input, but there was no significant difference between visual-temporal condition and auditory condition.(3)There was interaction between input format and presentation rate of the stimulus and reached the significance level. The conclusions is that implicit learning is significantly different in the different input formats, and the preference of auditory and visual learning to input formats change with changing of presentation rate. The input formats and presentation rate affect both have effect on implicit learning. This implies that implicit learning relies on perception features of stimulus to a certain extent, which supports the theory of modality-specific of implicit learning.
