Shohei Ooka(1909-1988)is a well-known writer of the War Literature in modern Japanese Literary Circles.The style of his works has its own battlefield experience into the literary works,namely to war as background and experiences of writers captured realistic novel,and describe Japanese post-war culture and western creative methods of love novels,also have ups and downs of the detective novels.Therefore,he can be regarded as a literary deep knowledge of literature.In the collision of Eastern and Western civilization,Shohei Ooka,who is in the Second World War battlefield,makes the contradition between himself influenced by Japanese culture and the Western civilization.He accepts show in public,with the form of War Literature.The two different cultures collide,rub,fuse with each other in his mind.Finally,he presented to us the human nature in the context of the war through his processing and refining.The war literature of Shohei Ooka occupies an important position in his literary career.His works,such as Prisoner of War,Wildfire,The warfare of Wright,Return to Mindoro,The long gurney and so on,which have the theme of the World War ?,were known as Five Part of War.The thesis chooses Prisoner of War and Wildfire as studying objects,reappears the fickleness of human in the battlefield of Philippines,combining with the western philosophy,ethics and so on.In order to research the humanistic thought and human nature in the works of Shohei Ooka under the limit state through the Eastern and Western culture.This thesis is divided into four chapters to discuss:The first chapter,mainly discusses Shohei Ooka and War literature.Firstly,the author has a brief introduction to Ooka's life and creative experience,hackles the concerns of humanity in his works.In the following part,introduces Ooka's war literature and his masterpieces Prisoner of War and Wildfire.In the second chapter mainly discusses from the relationship of Ooka's human nature and the Eastern and Western cultures.Then it discusses from the view of human nature which focuses on oneself,Japanese view of human nature which focus on the group and the performance from both of them under the context of war,in order to give a theoretical support to the unique view of Shohei Ooka.In the third chapter,which is the most dominant part of this thesis,mainly focuses on probing the view of human nature of Shohei Ooka.From the early works of the view of human nature which is reflected from the works.Then it also analyses the formation of Shohei Ooka's view of human nature and the forming reason.Finally,the author sums up and discusses the Chinese Scholar's discussion on Ooka's view of human nature,and tries to correct some scholars' misreading of Shohei Ooka's literature.In the fourth chapter,the author discusses what influence the Shohei Ooka's view of human nature make to literature,it has a discussion of two aspects:the influence of Shohei Ooka's view of human nature to his creation of post-war literature,and the influence of his early masterpieces of war literature---Prisoner of War and Wildfire to the Japanese post-war literature.Just because Shohei Ooka was influenced by Western literature and culture.And hard to abandon the ingrained Japanese culture,that he will have two different concepts of culture to dominate his behavior in the literary creation,thus forming Shohei Ooka's unique view of human nature.
