Since the middle of the 20 th century,the growing evidence of unbalance of the harmonious relationship between human and nature,humans have been threatened by environmental problems.With frequent occurring of global warming,species extinction,water shortages,more attention is paid to solve ecological problems.Against this background,the tide of ecological movement is spreading among developed capitalist countries.Marxists in the West attach great important to the combination of Marxism and ecological studies.“Ecological Marxism” as a new philosophy formation emerged.Leiss,William has received much attention in the field of ecological Marx.The topic mainly examines the thoughts of Leiss,William’s ecological crisis,and looks for the solutions.As one of the most influential representatives of Ecological Marxism,Leiss,William tries to find an integrating point for Ecology and Marxism.On the one hand,he hackles carefully the evolution of man’s attitude toward nature,and explores the situation of the society at the time,he proposes a set of “national salvation method”.On the other hand,Leiss,William starts from Marx’s view of nature and the theory of alienation,believes that the essence of dominate nature is the unlimited human desire,which leads to man’s control over man himself.In one sense,the thoughts of Leiss,William’s ecological crisis provide a theoretical basis for the environment problems.
