Research On The Old Ethics Of Jinnan Area

Local Chronicles summarize the natural and social,geography and humanity of a region,while custom logs are one of the main contents to specially record and reflect the local and social customs.Most of the Jinnan's Local Chronicles were written during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China,with total amount of one hundred and seventy four.This paper is researched based on these custom logs,intending to know the compilation situation and understand the folk customs of Jinnan.There are 5 parts in this article:Part one is the introduction,which clarifies the reason and significance of choosing the topic,elaborates the local chronicles and custom records,and expounds the definition of the custom records and the research methods etc.Through the discussion of the theory and research status,the research value is illustrated.Part two is the first chapter,which summarize the history of Jinnan,sort out the existing local chronicles of Jinnan,clarify the relationship among local chronicles,organize the catalog of customs records,so as to facilitate subsequent researches.Part three is the second chapter,to systematically understand the compilation and sort out the historical sources of customs logs via the discussion on the compilation,principles and purposes of the customs logs of Jinnan.Part four is the third chapter,which discusses the contents of the customs records of Jinnan.First of all,customs records the four ceremony of Coronal,marriage,funeral,and fete throughout people's whole lifetime.Accordingly,through the discussion we found people advocate the luxury life in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and found the authors prefer to record the undesirable customs.Furthermore,it describes the miscellaneous festivals of the seasons,and discovers the carnival atmosphere during slack season and sacrifice rites which reflecting the development of the social commodity economy in the Ming and Qing dynasties and the entertainment tendency of the festival.Simultaneously,Women were found to become important participants in civil activities;The last but not least,most of the local chronicles record the situation of temple fair,thereby we can know the folk belief of Jinnan.The above contents are essential to recognize the customs of Jinnan and its changes.Part five is the fourth chapter,introducing that the customs logs are conducive to the study of local social customs.It has the value of philology,folklore,historiography and culture etc.
