| The Records for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Mounting(Shanyan Suxin Lu)written by Zhou Erxue together with The Restoration written by Zhou Jiazhou are considered as two stars of ancient Chinese painting and calligraphy mounting.However,we know little about Zhou Erxue and his writings,let alone deep research on it.The professional books even have different points of view and explanations.There are few writings about Chinese painting and calligraphy restoration,therefore,Zhou Erxue’s book is very significant.In my opinion,it needs to be studied intensively in order to promote the development of Chinese painting and calligraphy restoration.This thesis is divided into three chapters.In the first chapter,I will correct wrong views about Zhou Erxue by analysis and comparison of different literature.In the second chapter,I will combine literature analysis with practical experience and put forward my views on professional terms of painting and calligraphy restoration,mounting forms,binding techniques,etc.In the third chapter,I will discuss about what we can learn from this book and what needs to be improved.From my perspective,true knowledge comes from practice.We should not be constrained by the predecessor’s ideas.I hope,by researching on this Zhou Erxue’s book,I could make a humble contribution to the development of Chinese painting and calligraphy restoration. |
